Early Career Researcher Award in PPIE

2025 – 2026
This is the second year of the PPIE Award for Early Career Researchers in Rare Disease and we were thrilled with the quality of the applications we received. It was wonderful to see how early career researchers, people with lived experience and patient representatives are working together to deliver meaningful and inclusive research. Research included a research priority setting exercise, involving peer researchers to conduct interviews, patient-led evaluations and involvement in clinical trial development. The competition was so strong this year that we awarded a winner and a runner-up but also felt it important to highly commend three further applications. A huge congratulations to everyone involved for showing what can be achieved when working together. We hope this recognition will inspire and encourage others to embed PPIE in current and future research.
